WGI Instructor Registry provides tools for guard and percussion staff members

WGI Sport of the Arts DAYTON, OH, February 22, 2010 — WGI Sport of the Arts has established a new online service to provide education materials to color guard and indoor drumline instructors. The service is offered free of charge and can be accessed by simply registering for an account.

Individuals who join the WGI Instructor Registry gain access to educational materials such as interactive videos and articles about the indoor marching arts activity. The articles, news and announcements are geared toward those teaching color guard and percussion ensembles, and are offered to all staff whether or not their ensembles attend WGI events.

"Educational resources on the indoor marching arts are very limited. Many times, when WGI is attempting to communicate to the instructors themselves, important information gets lost in the shuffle and never makes it to the people who need it most," explained WGI Marketing Director Bart Woodley. "The WGI Instructor Registry is an exciting new way to provide tools and information directly to ensemble instructors."

Woodley stresses that all instructors are invited to sign up, even if their groups do not participate in WGI events.

Instructors who register will receive a username and password. When visiting WGI.org, use the "Site Login" located in the bottom left corner of the site. Once logged in, the Instructor/Director news and articles will be displayed on the "dashboard" and special Instructor navigation options appear in the top right sidebar.

Visit wgi.org to sign up for the WGI Instructor Registry.

About WGI: WGI Sport of the Arts is the governing body for the indoor color guard and percussion activities. Hosting regionals, culminating with World Championships in April, WGI is the premier organization for pageantry and education. The Sport of the Arts brings music to life through competitive performance, creating a positive and exhilarating experience for everyone involved.
