Drum Corps Associates units gather in Annapolis on Labor Day weekend

DCA Drum Corps Associates 2012 World Championships

ANNAPOLIS, MD (August 30, 2012) — A total of 32 all-age drum and bugle corps, including Open Class, Class A and Alumni units, are registered for the annual Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Championships to be held August 30-September 2 in Annapolis, Maryland. The weekend will also feature performances by seven "mini corps," dozens of individuals and small ensembles, and the U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps.

Fans who are unable to attend in person have the option to view a live webcast through the DCA Fan Network. The cost is $15.00 for I&E/Mini Corps, $29.95 for Prelims, and $15.00 for the Alumni Spectactular.

Thursday, Aug. 30
• 5:00 PM DCA At The Dock - Susan Campbell Park. Free performances by six corps and ensembles.

Friday, Aug. 31
• 5:00 PM I&E/Mini Corps Contest - Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Mini Corps contest featuring seven units begins at 7:45 PM.

Saturday, Sept. 1
• 2:00 PM Preliminary Competition - Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Featuring 20 corps.

Sunday, Sept. 2
• 10:00 AM Alumni Spectacular - Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Featuring 12 corps.
• 5:00 PM World Championship Finals - Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Featuring the top 10 Open Class and top 4 Class A corps from prelims, plus a pre-contest exhibition by the U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps.
