2013 Presidential Inaugural Parade Order


Planned order of march announced for Inaugural Parade lineup

WASHINGTON, DC (January 18, 2013) — The Presidential Inaugural Committee has announced the complete lineup of groups and the marching order planned for the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Parade on Monday, January 21.

The Inaugural Parade will feature eight official inaugural floats, 59 groups — including marching bands, mounted units, cultural organizations, and more — along with military units representing the nation's Armed Forces. More than 8,800 people and nearly 200 animals will take part in the parade that follows President Obama and Vice President Biden from the Capitol down Pennsylvania Avenue after the swearing-in ceremony.

The 57th Presidential Inauguration January 21, 2013 The President, Vice President, and their families will watch the processional from the reviewing stand in front of the White House. The estimated start time for the parade is 2:35 PM (Eastern) on Monday, January 21.

Live Web Stream Announced

The entire parade can be viewed online through a live web stream at www.2013pic.org/live.

Multiple television networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, C-SPAN, FOX News Channel and Telemundo will be covering the inauguration festivities. Coverage of the parade will vary, but it is anticipated that all of the networks will at least show the parade as background of their ongoing coverage.

2013 Presidential Inaugural Parade Order

Participants and their order in the Inaugural Parade are not considered final until the parade begins.

THE PRESIDENTIAL ESCORT
  • The Presidential Escort is a military and civilian formation that escorts the President, Vice President, and their families from the Capitol to the White House following the swearing-in ceremony. The escort will include representatives from the five branches of the United States Military, elected officials, and local and national law enforcement organizations.
